Fairfax City Library’s Fall Book Sale Runs October 23–25

If browsing books sounds like a good weekend plan, the Friends of Fairfax City Library have a three-day sale coming up. Choose your day based on whether you want the general sale or Sunday’s bag-sale format.

The dates and hours

The official library calendar lists the general public sale for Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 25, is the bag sale, also 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The listing describes gently used books for all ages.

Where to go

The event is at City of Fairfax Regional Library. The official branch page gives its address as 10360 North Street, Fairfax. Use the named branch when planning your trip; the event is not at a different Fairfax County library.

Accessibility update checked October 18: The library reports its parking-garage elevator is out of service. Before visiting, call 703-293-6227, extension 7, for the latest elevator status. Check the official branch alert.

Make browsing easier

Before you go, make a short list of authors, subjects or books you already own. A photo of your bookshelf can help prevent duplicate purchases. If you are shopping for someone else, ask for a couple of interests rather than assuming which titles they would enjoy.

Give yourself time to inspect condition and decide what you will actually read. A bargain is most useful when the book has a place in your home and a reader who wants it.

Details to confirm

The calendar does not publish individual prices, a bag price, payment methods or bag-supply rules. Check with the branch or Friends group before relying on a particular budget or payment method. Sunday’s sale hours are event-specific; they do not establish access to all regular library services.
