Carnival rides and crowds at the Prince William County Fair in Manassas, Virginia during a summer evening in 2025

Dates: August 8–16, 2025
Location: 10624 Dumfries Road, Manassas, VA 20112

I've lived in Prince William County my whole life, and the Prince William County Fair has always been one of the highlights of summer for me. I've gone every year since I was a kid. One of my favorite memories is when my uncle, Pat Colgan, won the demolition derby—he took home the trophy several times, and to this day it's still one of the fair's biggest attractions. Definitely get there early for a good seat! I also remember helping campaign for my grandfather, Senator Colgan, at the fair during election years. It was a place where community, family, and tradition came together. I’ve always loved the haunted attractions, the fried food, and trying (and usually failing) to win at the arcade games. If you’re a Northern Virginia local, this fair is a must. And if you’re visiting D.C. in August, I’d highly recommend swinging out to Manassas to experience it.

The Prince William County Fair, with a rich history dating back to 1949, is back for 2025—and it’s bigger, better, and packed with more excitement than ever before. Held annually in Manassas, Virginia, this sweepingly festive fair is the largest county fair in Virginia and draws visitors from across Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and beyond. From enthralling events to delicious food and thrilling rides, whether you’re a thrill-seeker, a foodie, or a parent looking for weekend plans, this guide has everything you need to make the most of your visit.

Pro Tip:
Locals often return multiple days—each visit has something new!
