What’s happening: Prince William County has scheduled a public information meeting on the Route 234/Sudley Manor Drive interchange project for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, 6–8 p.m. at Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center, 9100 Freedom Center Boulevard, Manassas. For people who use this corridor, it is a chance to ask about their actual route before making assumptions about the future design.

What the county is working on

The county project overview identifies improvements at Prince William Parkway and Sudley Manor Drive, plus changes at Wellington Road. It lists a $115.5 million budget and describes separating roadway levels to improve traffic operations.

Why it matters: A road project can change how you reach work, shops and neighborhood entrances. The useful question is not simply whether traffic will improve overall, but how your own turns and connections would work.

Bring these questions to the meeting

  • Which movements will remain available at Sudley Manor and Wellington, and which will use a different route?
  • How will access work during construction, including peak-hour travel?
  • What walking and cycling connections are included?
  • What is the current schedule, and when will updated drawings and public comments be available?

The county transportation department advertises the October 7 meeting. Its official calendar supplies the 6–8 p.m. window and venue. Recheck those pages before attending.

What remains uncertain

The county capital-project list shows the construction end date as “TBD.” Its summer-2026 start entry is a schedule entry, not independent confirmation that construction has started. Published summaries also differ in how they describe future access; use the meeting’s current plans for specific turn-by-turn answers. This article does not promise a completion date, travel-time savings or a home-value increase.

Five quick FAQs

Is the October 7 event an opening celebration?

No. It is a public information meeting about the project.

Where should I go?

Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center, 9100 Freedom Center Boulevard in Manassas. The county calendar lists 6–8 p.m.

Does this include Wellington Road?

Yes. The county describes changes there as part of the project. Ask staff to explain the latest access plan for the route you use.

Can I assume my commute will be shorter?

No. Try your current commute at the times you actually travel. Future benefits, construction impacts and individual routes should be assessed separately.

Should this affect my home search?

Put it on your research list if you regularly use the corridor. Compare today's access and the latest project information alongside the home, its condition and your total budget.
