Two concepts, different footprints

The county describes Alignment A as four lanes west of JK Black Oak Wildlife Sanctuary, estimated at $273 million. Mini-Bypass B is a two-lane concept traversing the sanctuary, estimated at $45 million and being refined eastward toward Route 15. These are planning estimates.

What comes next

The county anticipates preliminary Smart Scale scores in December 2026 and a Board item to endorse a recommended alignment in winter 2027. Neither is an opening date. Read the September 29 materials and submit comments through the official project page. Comments through October 30 go to staff and supervisors.

Make your feedback specific

Describe the trip or crossing you want the team to evaluate. Ask which exhibit addresses your concern. Keep questions about existing conditions separate from predictions about a road that has not been built.

Compare homes using today's commute

Test the drive at the times you would travel. Do not make a home purchase depend on assumed future travel-time savings. Keep a dated project map with your search notes, and obtain parcel-specific information if an alignment could affect a property directly.
